James F. Holland Memorial Park

Project Type: Splash Pad

Location: Palm Coast, Florida, USA

As of June 2024, the James F. Holland Memorial Park features the largest installation of Life Floor in Florida. 11,504 sq ft of our safety surfacing enhances three connected play areas. Designed by Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering, families can explore these spaces to experience different thematic encounters. The curvy beach motif is a show-stopping visual complete with palm trees, ocean creatures, and larger-than-life cattail features. A forest-inspired pathway under heavy tree cover leads away and opens up into a smaller pond space with realistic animal features placed throughout.

This amenity originally opened in May 2021, but closed 5 months later due to the original poured-in-place surface which cracked and peeled, becoming a significant trip hazard and sanitary concern. Following a period of litigation, the city of Palm Coast chose to install Life Floor through Martin Aquatic’s consultation and recommendation.

We are proud of our part in bringing new life to James F. Holland Memorial Park. Beyond the intensive rework to resolve technical issues, the vibrant colors, playful themes, and certified safety surface make this park a destination for families to enjoy for years to come.
