Life Floor Make a SPLASH! Grant Program: Celebrating the 2024 Winners

At Life Floor, we believe that every community deserves safe, beautiful, and accessible aquatic spaces. That's why we created the Make a SPLASH! Grant Program—to empower communities nationwide by providing grant opportunities for upgrading their splash pads with our premium safety surfacing. This year, we are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2024 Make a SPLASH! Grants in the following categories:

Needs-Based Grant Award Winner:
Fayette Aquatic Center, Fayette, Alabama

The Fayette Aquatic Center is a cherished hub of activity in Fayette, Alabama. The original splash pad, constructed in 2002, has been a gathering place for generations and has served as the anchor for a larger water park since 2012. The splash pad is enjoyed by thousands of children each season; however, its painted concrete surface is aging after decades of use, and the community recognized the urgent need for improvements.

What This Grant Means to Fayette Aquatic Center

The grant will allow the Fayette Aquatic Center to replace its concrete surface with Life Floor's signature slip-resistant and cushioning tiles. This upgrade ensures a safer, more vibrant space for children and families.

Safety has been, and always will be, the ‘main thing’ for our guests. Having Life Floor on the portion that is used most by children would be a wonderful and much-needed improvement.
— Fayette Team

Beyond safety, the Life Floor design will revitalize the facility, making "old things new again." Situated near a municipal airport, the splash pad will continue to offer its unique charm, where kids pause their play to watch planes and helicopters soar overhead.

Inclusive Design Grant Award Winner:
Jewish Community Center, St. Louis, Missouri

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) in St. Louis exemplifies inclusivity, ensuring that its aquatic spaces cater to people of all ages and abilities. From infants exploring sensory play to adults enjoying fitness programs, the JCC splash pad brings joy and connection to over 4,000 visitors each summer.

What This Grant Means to the JCC

Winning the Inclusive Design Grant will allow the JCC to enhance its splash pad with Life Floor's innovative surfacing, addressing a critical need for improved safety and accessibility. For campers like Sarah, who uses a walker, the splash pad offers not just fun but freedom and independence. A revitalized splash pad will mean that more children like Sarah can participate without barriers.

Kids will be able to play differently now. As an employee and parent of an ECC child, I have the honor of witnessing firsthand the lives lived here at the J. With this Splash Pad renewal, SO many people will use the pool more freely, with no fear of burns or scrapes from the concrete.

Staff and families alike shared their excitement:
"Upgrades would benefit thousands of guests—children, staff, and families—by ensuring safety, promoting inclusion, and creating lasting memories."

With its ADA-compliant design and dedication to serving diverse populations, the JCC's splash pad is more than just a play space; it's a cornerstone of community engagement and connection.

A Commitment to Community Transformation

The Make a SPLASH! Grant Program exemplifies Life Floor's mission to enhance safety, accessibility, and joy for all. Whether it's making a splash in Fayette or fostering inclusivity at the JCC, these grants embody the power of community. Congratulations to the 2024 grant winners! We can't wait to see how your upgraded splash pads inspire fun, connection, and safety for generations to come.
